At Journey Covenant, our mission is:
A Life-Changing Journey, Knowing and Showing Jesus
One of the ways we accomplish our mission is through participation in and support of missions work within the United States and around the world.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you... - Matthew 28:19-20
Mexico Mission Teams
Over the years Journey has partnered with Amor Ministries to build homes for those in need. The group takes a day getting to Mesa, AZ where we stay the night, meet the other teams going from all over the country and leave the following morning by van-caravan for Mexico. In teams ranging from 12-20 people simple stucco homes are built in two and a half days. This is an awesome experience for those traveling into Mexico as well as the Mexican family for which you serve. God certainly uses the relationships formed to challenge and grow everyone! For more information, contact Will and Holly Mills.
Haiti Medical Teams
Working through Northwest Haiti Christian Mission, JCC has sent individuals as well as teams of people to some of the poorest parts of Haiti. These teams are equipped with doctors, nurses, other medical staff and volunteers who are prepared to offer a variety of free medical services. For more information, contact Tricia Jester.
Evangelical Covenant Church
The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) is the denomination Journey belongs to and supports. By pooling the resources of many ECC churches, a greater number of people can be reached and served. Therefore, Journey tithes 6% to the regional and international missions of the ECC. This money is combined with the gifts and tithes of other churches around the world, which enables a larger impact to occur internationally for the Lord. For more information, visit the ECC website.
JCC also supports Rev. Gary and Pauline Carlson, who are missionaries with the Covenant in Japan. They have been called into the areas of church planting and evangelism by the Covenant Annual Meeting in 1983 and have been serving with the Covenant since that time. Covenant Cares
The Evangelical Covenant Church offers a catalog of gifts which go beyond a nice thought- they impact lives. The gifts found throughout this catalog provide basic needs and ultimately life to individuals who need it most. Items such as: clean water, construction of wells, food projects, livestock, funds to empower women, first-doctor visit funds for babies and much more can be found on the Cov Cares website. JCC takes part in the purchase of these gifts during advent, but any time of year is a good time to fund these important ministries.
Casa Hogar Vida Coffee Co.
This coffee company not only provides quality, specialty coffee from the mountains of Honduras to individuals, churches and businesses here but strives to give a helping hand to those living in the poverty-stricken nation. The company has a great, personal partnership with the farmers and sees that they are paid a fair wage for their products. Strategic relationships are formed to enable the farmers a livelihood as well as share the gospel of Jesus Christ. For more information: Joey Soto (855) 891-2400
Living Water International
For a few years now a special collection during Christmas time at Journey has gone to this organization which digs wells in developing countries. Clean, accessible water is something that most of us in the USA take for granted but a luxury which many individuals don't have. Many of the health problems which developing nations face can be prevented or at least significantly reduced by providing clean water. For more information, visit Living Water International.
